Attics - Insulating Existing Occupied Attic Space

Dow insulation products help improve the comfort and energy efficiency of rooms in finished attics. But they do much more than that. For example, water vapor can condense on cool surfaces of an uninsulated roof assembly, which can contribute to mold growth, mildew damage, odors and wood rot. Wood framing can cause thermal shorts and heat loss through the ceiling and walls which, in turn, can cause ice dams in the winter, water backups and leakage inside the home. Adding a layer of STYROFOAM™ extruded polystyrene or polyisocyanurate insulation helps reduce the potential for condensation and its associated problems.
