Corrugated ribs on the top side of STYROFOAMâ„¢ Brand ROOFMATEâ„¢ Insulation - Ribbed allow pavers to be installed directly on top of the insulation without the need for pedestals.

STYROFOAMâ„¢ Brand Ribbed ROOFMATEâ„¢ Insulation has corrugated ribs on the top of the insulation and 1/2" x 1/4" drainage channels on the bottom long edge of each board. The Type VI extruded polystyrene foam board is designed for installation above waterproofing or roofing membranes in protected membrane roof (PMR) applications that use pavers or patio stones as ballast. Pavers can be installed directly over the ribbed foam surface without the need for pedestals.

Building Code Compliance

Complies with ASTM C578 Type VI. Meets IBC/IRC requirements for foam plastic insulation. See ESR-2142, BOCA-ES RR 21-02, ICBO-ES ER-2257. UL Classified, see Classification Certificate D369.

Nominal Board Thickness, in R-Value(1) Board Size, ft Edge Treatment Min Compressive Strength(2), psi

(1) R means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. R-values are expressed in ft2• h•°F/Btu. R-value determined by ASTM C518.

(2) Vertical compressive strength is measured at 10% deformation (5% for STYROFOAMâ„¢ Brand PLAZAMATEâ„¢ Insulation and for STYROFOAMâ„¢ Brand HIGHLOAD 40, 60 and 100 Insulation products) or at yield, whichever occurs first. Since STYROFOAMâ„¢ Brand Extruded Polystyrene and Dow polyisocyanurate insulation products are visco-elastic materials, adequate design safety factors should be used to prevent long-term creep. For static loads, 3:1 is suggested. For dynamic loads, 5:1 is suggested.
