STYROFOAM™ Brand ROOFMATE™ Insulation, with 1/2" x 1/4" drainage channels on the bottom long edge (U.S. only), is designed for installation above waterproofing or roofing membranes in protected membrane roof (PMR) applications. This Type VI extruded polystyrene foam insulation helps keep the membrane at a more steady temperature, minimizing the effects of weathering, freeze-thaw cycles and damage during and after construction.
Building Code Compliance
Complies with ASTM C578 Type VI. Meets CAN/ULC S701 Type 4. Meets IBC/IRC requirements for foam plastic insulation. See ESR-2142, BOCA-ES RR 21-02, ICBO-ES ER-2257, CCMC - Evaluation Listing #04888-L. UL Classified, see Classification Certificate D369.

(1) Not all product sizes are available in all regions. (2) R means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. R-values are expressed in ft2• h•°F/Btu. R-value determined by ASTM C518. (3) Vertical compressive strength is measured at 10% deformation (5% for STYROFOAM™ Brand PLAZAMATE™ Insulation and for STYROFOAM™ Brand HIGHLOAD 40, 60 and 100 Insulation products) or at yield, whichever occurs first. Since STYROFOAM™ Brand Extruded Polystyrene and Dow polyisocyanurate insulation products are visco-elastic materials, adequate design safety factors should be used to prevent long-term creep. For static loads, 3:1 is suggested. For dynamic loads, 5:1 is suggested. |
