Dow Building Solutions Earns Straight “A’s” For Quality and Service from the Nation’s Largest Privately Held, For-Profit Home Builder

– Receives “Partners of Choice Award” from David Weekley Homes for fourth consecutive year

Midland, MI - August 18, 2008

Dow Building Solutions has earned straight A's in both quality and service from David Weekley Homes, winning the home builder's coveted "Partners of Choice Award" for the fourth year in a row.

Ratings are based on the results of David Weekley Homes' National Trading Partners Survey, which is given to approximately 1,000 of the company's team members, including builders, designers, the warranty service department, administrative personnel and the executive team.  A "score card" is issued every quarter, and suppliers are assigned two ratings:  one for quality and one for service.  Dow earned its first "A, A" rating when David Weekley Homes launched the program in the fourth quarter of 2004 and has been "head of the class" ever since.

David Weekley Homes is the nation's largest privately held, for-profit home builder, and relies on Dow's building science expertise and trusted brands - like STYROFOAM™ Brand Insulation and WEATHERMATE™ Weather Barrier Solutions - to create some of the most energy efficient homes in the country.

"Our survey process is comprehensive and rigorous.  To score well, a company must engage our organization at all levels, and provide a superior experience," said Bill Justus, vice president of supply chain services for David Weekley Homes.  "Consequently, only five companies in a field of 150 have maintained an 'A' rating in quality and service over the past four years.  Through its actions, Dow has proven to be a world-class provider."

"Each of the groups that evaluate our performance within David Weekley Homes has its own set of priorities, so we are honored to have again earned the highest recognition across all disciplines," said John Hammer, North American residential marketing manager with Dow Building Solutions.  "At Dow, we take performance evaluations - like the National Trading Partners Survey, and the subsequent "Partners of Choice Award" - very seriously. We are committed to applying our more than 60 years of building science expertise and trusted brands to help our customers build more comfortable, energy efficient homes.  To receive this award from David Weekley Homes tells us that our long-standing investment in quality and service is well-worth the effort."

David Weekley Homes launched the National Trading Partners Survey in 2004.  Today approximately 150 companies participate in the process. With each year of the program, overall performance results have steadily increased, which has raised the bar for achieving high scores in each category.

"The housing market has significantly changed since the inception of the program in 2004," said Justus. "Today it is more important than ever that the entire supply chain be aligned in supporting the builder customer.  Our survey identifies those companies that are aligning all channel partners toward this goal."
