Agricultural Buildings
Modern farming methods require efficient buildings in which temperature and humidity can be closely controlled. Effective insulation is vital for the design and construction of buildings which will:
- provide economic crop storage.
- extend the effective period for crop storage.
- provide the optimum environment for healthy growth of livestock.
- reduce the risk of livestock suffering thermal stress by minimising summer heat gains and winter heat loss.
Insulation in agricultural buildings must be able to withstand:
- high humidity.
- impact damage.
- regular cleaning, including pressure hosing.
Guidance on the use of insulation in agricultural buildings can be found in BS 5502.
The STYROFOAM™ Solution for insulating agricultural buildings is ROOFMATE™ RL-X.
ROOFMATE RL-X is designed to give the maximum benefit in agricultural buildings:-
- unaffected by moisture.
- sufficiently rigid to span purlins unsupported.
- withstands pressure hosing or steam cleaning.
