The terrace is the most usual function of accessible roofs. Concrete paving slabs over a layer of crushed aggregate (4/8 mm, 3-5 cm thickness) can be laid on ROOFMATE™ SL-A boards. Between the aggregate and the insulation a diffusion-open, rot-proof geotextile (eg. polypropylene fleece) acts as a separation and protection layer. An alternative diffusion-open solution is to lay concrete paving slabs on distance holders placed on the insulation through the geotextile. To get adhered pavement, the frost resistant tiles should be bonded onto a min. 6 cm reinforced concrete slab/screed, installed on a min. 3 cm thick 4/8 mm crushed aggregate, with a diffusion open geotextile separation layer between.
