A Type IV extruded polystyrene foam insulation with patented dovetail grooves on one face.

Used In

  • For commercial and residential applications
  • Used on exterior foundation walls to assist water drainage away from the foundation
  • Suitable for use in pervious, semi-pervious and practically impervious soils

Product Advantages

  • Moisture resistance
  • Durable and lightweight
  • Patented dovetail grooves on one face
  • Shiplap edges on the long edges
  • Protects the waterproofing membrane
  • Grooves face the soil to channel water down to the footing drains or weeping tiles

Typical Physical Properties

These properties are typical but do not constitute specifications.

STYROFOAM™ PERIMATE™ - U.S. Residential/Commercial

Nominal Board Thickness(1), in R-Value(2) Board Size, ft Edge Treatment Min Compressive Strength(3), psi
1.063 5.0 2 x 8 Shiplap (long edge) and square edge (short edge) 30
2.125 10.0 2 x 8 Shiplap (long edge) and square edge (short edge) 30

(1) Not all product sizes are available in all regions.

(2) R means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. R-values are expressed in ft2• h•°F/Btu. R-value determined by ASTM C518.

(3) Vertical compressive strength is measured at 10% deformation (5% for STYROFOAM™ Brand HIGHLOAD 40, 60 and 100 Insulation products) or at yield, whichever occurs first. Since STYROFOAM™ Brand Extruded Polystyrene Insulation products are visco-elastic materials, adequate design safety factors should be used to prevent long-term creep. Adequate design safety factors are needed. For more information visit our Answer Center.
