Shanghai, China - May 31, 2009
Dow has been appointed as a lead sponsor and supplier to the Shanghai Eco-House for World Expo 2010, a unique zero energy consumption building which will be one of the highlights of the Shanghai Expo. Dow Building Solutions is the only provider of roofing insulation products for Shanghai Eco-House, with the outstanding product performance of its roofing insulation boards - Styrofoam™ passing the organizing committee’s rigorous screening criteria.
The Shanghai Eco-House will be at the northern residential cluster of the Expo’s Urban Best Practices Area, with a construction area of some 3,000 square meters. As China’s first ‘zero energy consumption’ eco-house demonstration project in China, it embodies the sustainable eco-house philosophy and explores universally applicable habitable home models.
On May 31, 2009, Dow attended the signing ceremony of 22 World Expo Shanghai Eco-House sponsoring enterprises at Shanghai Research Institute of Building Science (SRIBS), with officials from Shanghai Municipal Construction Commission, SRIBS and Shanghai Xian Dai Architectural Design (Group).
